What We Do

TPAS' services are focused on Vancouver, where our experienced volunteers can meet directly with clients. We offer free assistance to clients by appointment only. (We are not currently accepting drop-in clients.) We also accept referrals from other organizations working in the Lower Mainland. .

We work together to:

  • Guide clients through application processes for various forms of social assistance;
  • Provide information about Canada Pension, Old Age Pension, and Employment Assistance;
  • Assist people in obtaining birth certificates and other forms of identification;
  • Connect clients to social service agencies;
  • Refer clients to lawyers and legal aid;
  • Help clients manage landlord/tenant disputes;
  • Assist clients with completing various application forms;
  • Advocate for those appealing denials of benefits; and,
  • Help clients who may be scheduled to appear before tribunals.

We do not, however, provide direct aid in the form of money or food.
